The Animal and Plant Health Laboratory of Catalonia is the official technical support laboratory for diagnosis of the diseases foreseen in the official surveillance, control and eradication programs in matters of animal and plant health of the Government of Catalonia.
They analyze about 430,000 animal samples and about 9,000 plant samples annually, which means a total of 540,000 analyzes. The main diseases that are investigated are brucellosis, bluetongue, leukosis, contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, IBR, BVD, Q fever, Aujeszky, PPA, PPC, CAE, Maeda Visna and varroa (of animal origin), and fungi, bacteria, viruses, viroids, phytoplasmas, nematodes and arthropods (of plant origin)
CPQ Ingenieros has participated in the design and facultative direction of the laboratories.
